What is the TSS & TCS?

The Texas School Survey collects self-reported tobacco, alcohol, and substance use data among students in grades 7-12 in Texas public shcools. The Texas College Survey collects the same information for those who are full-time undergraduate students, ages 18-26. The survey is sponsored by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and administered by the Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI) at Texas A&M.

The surveys provide a valuable resource for schools, school districts, state agencies, and statewide prevention organizations. Depending on the specific survey selected, administration takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes and can be completed either online or in paper format. PPRI partners with your designated Survey Coordinator to support the implementation and ensure a smooth process from start to finish.
